How To Re-purpose Old Necklaces into AnkletsBy Jennie Mae
Give a new life to old jewelry!
For this project, you will need:
plyers (I use two pairs, it makes opening jump rings much easier)
rough estimate of the circumference of your ankle
Step 1: Gather all of your old jewelry. This can be anything from necklaces and bracelets to keychains!
Step 2: Go through the items and decide which ones would best suit this project.
This is what I picked out, though I didn't end up using the little cross pendants.
Step 3: Time to get messy! This is where your own creativity can shine. I want to make a multi-layered anklet with accent pendants. It can be as simple or as complicated as you'd like!
I wrapped the necklace chain around my ankle twice, measuring out how much I wanted each half to drape on my ankle. I attached each chain link with a jump ring. I repeated these steps to add the skull charms to the chain bits. And, voila!
This is how mine turned out.
Tip: It was quite hard to use my own ankle to test the size/draping of the chains. I’d recommend borrowing someone’s ankle so you don’t have to pause every 5 minutes to try on your creation.
